Chickadees… the friendliest ‘wild’ things I know! If you can get quite still and hold out your hand they will fly in for a fat sunflower seed treat. We have a weeping crab tree and highbush cranberry that become loaded with bright red berries in the fall. Dozens of chickadees flock to the tree to gorge on the berries, often hanging upside down to pick the best of them.  

 

Their song lifts my soul no matter how weary I might be. Friends.
